Mama Africa's Peacebuilding Program works to enhance social cohesion and peaceful coexistence through comprehensive initiatives targeting both refugees and host communities in Uganda. The program includes organizing community dialogue sessions, providing psychosocial support to conflict-affected individuals, and economically empowering youth and women to reduce tensions arising from resource competition. Our goal is to transform conflicts into opportunities for collaboration and to build a solid foundation for sustainable stability.
The challenge lies in bridging the gap between emergency relief and sustainable peacebuilding. Refugees suffer from deep psychological trauma and a lack of livelihoods, leaving them vulnerable to security fragility and community conflicts within displacement settings.
